Extended Team Profile
Mike Daneman , Ph.D.
Mike Daneman has a broad range of experience, including over 13 years experience in MEMS design and development, optical design, and fiber-optic packaging, as well as experience in small and large group and project management. Mike has published a number of technical journal and conference papers in the field of optical MEMS.
Mike received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, then went on to earn an M.S. and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, specializing in adaptive Optical MEMS and Fiber-optics components.
In September of 1996, Mike joined Silicon Light Machines as one of its early employees, where he worked to develop MEMS and optics for MEMS-based video projection systems. In January 1999, Mike co-founded Onix Microsystems, a start-up company developing fiber-optic switches for the telecommunications industry, where he held Director of Product Development and VP of Operations positions and managed the development of Onix’s optical switch products and foundry technology transfer. Most recently Mike has managed chip-assembly and packaging of MEMS-based miniature Solid-Oxide Fuel Cells at Lilliputian Systems.
